The H4 H/L HID Xenon bulbs we supply are suitable for 35w or 55w HID ballasts, (for high powered 70w, 75w, and 100w, see below), and will fit 95% of most existing relay harnesses on the market. This gives you an easy "swap and fit" replacement that does not require buying extra parts or accessories. The most popular colour is 6000k cool white, but we do have other colours available on request, 5500k-6000k is the standard recommended colour temperature for xenon bulbs. Our 5500k-6000k bulbs are closest in colour to an OEM xenon bulb that are found in Mercedes and BMW. Our xenon bulbs are not like the colour temperatures in cheaper bulbs that claim to be 6000k. Some cheaper bulbs can be as off-the-mark as 8000k, whereas our bulbs are high quality and accurate in regards to the colour temperature and clarity. 70w, (to 75w), and 100w HID Xenon Bulbs

Before buying the 70w or 100w bulbs you must be aware that they are used for off-road only lighting such as spot lights and driving lights in the bush or on farms, for professional roo shooters and pig hunters, or for boat lighting and machinery. UV Cut Quartz - Reflector Burns and Lens Warping

All of our xenon bulbs are UV Cut quartz which cuts the dangerous and damaging UV Radiation from emitting through the xenon bulb and damaging reflectors and lenses. The worst scenario for badly made xenon bulbs is that they will burn your reflectors, discolour lenses, and warp lenses. All of our range of HID bulbs will not damage or burn reflectors, even our high powered bulbs are safe.

There is a lot of difference of opinion to which is the best colour temperature to use, and cheaper bulbs can give bad colour temperatures that make them hard to define, or be true.
In a nutshell, the best colour for seeing according to scientists is around midday sunlight, (around 5770k). In quality HID Xenon Bulbs the class of a "white light" is between 4000k-6500k, with midday sunlight being right in the middle of the spectrum, so technically the 5500k-6000k bulbs are the best to pick up the contrast of objects at night. 4000k (or on the bulbs they are around 4300k), is classed as "Warm White", whereas 6000k is classed as cool white. Most BMW and Mercedes use 6000k bulbs, some of the older Mercedes used 4200k, some older Honda's used 4300k, and i have never seen a BMW not use 6000k.
What about Fog Lights?
From my 20yr experience i have noticed a couple of phenomenons. Whereas technically the best light will be closest to midday, glare in fog, rain, and dust will also be exacerbated and be more visible. I have noticed older drivers, who have been driving around with yellow headlights for 20 or 30 years, are more sensitive to the white light and find that the glare can be irritating and prefer the warm white 4300k bulbs, whereas younger drivers prefer the 6000k. Some farmers in high dust areas also prefer the 4300k warm white, but again technically 5500k-6000k is the best light for seeing at night, irrespective of dust, fog, or rain.
